The U21 footballers poor showing against a well balanced Kilshannig side in Round 1 means they will have to go the back door route this year if they are to progress in the championship. Playing into a strong wind in the firsst half Kildorrery found scores hard to come by and found it diffult to come to grips with a stron Kilshannig 15. Their cause was not helped after 19 minutes when key forward Shane O Neill was harshly Black carded. It was an uphill task in the second half and despite the strong wind Kilshannig continued to dominate and ran out worthy winners on a score of 2-13 to 1-03.
