It is with deep regret we record the unexpected death of a former player, Michael (Mick) Murphy, Gurrane, Kildorrery which occurred at his residence last week-end. Deceased played under-age and minor hurling before progressing to the Junior team. He was a member of the team which won both North Cork League and Championhip in 1969 and championship in 1972. When his playing days were over, he continued to follow and support Club teams. His coffin draped in the Club colours was afforded a guard of honour of Club members at his removal from Hannon’s Funeral Home to St. Bartholomew’s Church on Tuesday evening. Sympathy is extended to his brothers Thomas, David and Colman, sisters Nora and Maureen, brothers-in- law, sisters-in- law, nieces and nephews. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
