What a high note on which to end the year! Last Sunday afternoon at Mayfield venue, our Minor C hurlers completely outhurled Shamrocks to add the County Rebel Og trophy to the North Cork title which they had won a few weeks earlier. This was a brilliant display from a dedicated bunch of players, on a very cold winter’s day. From the throw-in, Kildorrery set out in a business-like manner and two early goals by James Keating set the trend of the game. From start to finish they were by far the better side and at the interval they led 4-4 to 0-6.

Again, as in the opening half, they got the early scores and never looked back, dominating in all sectors and running out convincing winners on the above score. Their mentors availed of the last quarter to give game time to all members of the panel. Congratulations on a heart-warming victory to all players and indeed to their mentors Willie Duggan and Stevie Kent.

Team and scorers: John Hunter, Tony Watson, Mattie Walsh-O’Grady, Anthony Crowley, Ian Butler, Niall Higgins, P.J.Keating, Paddy Hartnett 1-0, Dylan Kent 1-3, Paddy Pigott, James Keating 2-5, Cathal Harrington 1-5.
