Last Friday evening, a depleted Junior hurling team travelled to Buttevant to play the locals’ first team in the the Cavanagh’s Fermoy Division 2 League. While they gave of their best, injuries and the absence of subs contributed to their defeat on the score-line of 2-06 to Buttevant’s 2-20.

 

LOTTO

There was no winner of the €5,400 jackpot when the Club’s fortnightly lotto draw took place at Walsh’s Corner House, last Saturday night.

The numbers drawn were: 4, 12, 15 and 26.

Three lucky dip winners of €50 each were:

The next draw will be held at Sheahan’s Hilltop Lounge, on Saturday July 9th when the jackpot will be €5,600.

On this Friday evening, our Intermediate hurlers travel to Rathcormac, where they play Ballinhassig in the Championship, Round 2, at 7.30 p.m. We wish players and management the best of luck.

Wednesday July 6th Division 3 Intermediate Football league V Glanworth at Kildorrery 8p.m.

 

ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to neighbours Shanballymore, on their victory in the All-Ireland Junior B hurling championship final, last Sunday.

 

HILLFEST

The annual Community/GAA festival takes place over this week-end. It gets under way this Thursday with a Ladies’ Night featuring The Mahon Point Shopping Centre Roadshow, at 7.30 p.m.

Friday night is Bingo night followed by Talent Show Final.

Saturday : Gemma and The Jets.

Sunday will as usual be Family Day and there will be a Summer Market in the Car Park. A Clay Pigeon Shoot will take place in the G.A.A. grounds. Only licensed gun-holders will be allowed take part.

 

SYMPATHY

At last Monday’s Club meeting votes of sympathy were passed to the following: Mary Carroll and family, Ballyanihan, on the death of her brother; the parents, brothers, sister and relatives of the late Helen Fitzgibbon, Oaklawn and to the wife and family of the late John Horgan, Blackrock on their recent bereavements.
