We had two games last week, one championship and one league.  On Wednesday evening Ballyhooly was the venue for our opening round of the Under 21 hurling Championship where St.Dominic’s provided the opposition. On Saturday evening our Junior hurlers travelled to Fermoy to play the local side in the Cavanagh’s Fermoy league.  Unfortunately, both games had disappointing results.

 

KILDORRERY 1-15  ST DOMINIC’S 1-18

Aided by the fresh breeze in the opening half, our boys led at the interval 1-11 to 1-8.  However, the Glanworth side came right back into the game in the second half to run out winners on the above score.

After trailing by just two points at the break, 1-4 to 0-9 in this league game, our junior hurlers were , well beaten  in the second half, only managing to score just four points in the second half with the home side going on to win convincingly.

KILDORRERY  1-17 SARSFIELDS O-15 

We got this week off to a good start with an Intermediate hurling league win over Sarsfields,  at Riverstown, on Monday evening. Having trailed at the end of the first half by two points 0-8 to 0-10, they went on to put in a great second half performance running out deserving winners on the above score-line.

ON CORK TEAM

Congratulations to our two Club men, James Keating and Ian Butler, who have been named on the Cork Under 20 Hurling panel.  James has been nominated Captain of the team which played Limerick in the Munster championship at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Wednesday evening.
