KILDORRERY 1-6 MITCHELSTOWN 0-9
Our junior footballers finished level with neighbours, Mitchelstown when the sides met in the Cavanagh’s of Fermoy Div.2 football league at Kildorrery, last Friday evening. For whatever reason, the appointed referee failed to show and after a hurried phone-call, Mitchelstown’s Dave O’Farrell obliged. Many thanks to Dave.
This was a keenly contested game but one which was marked by a large number of wides from both sides. A feature of the game was a great penalty save by Dave Roche. The game looked to be going ‘Town’s way, but a late Kildorrery revival provided two points to earn them a draw and a share of the points.

KILDORRERY 1-7 ST. MICHAEL’S 2-13
On Saturday last, our Intermediate footballers travelled to Mahon where they played the Premier side St. Michael’s in the Division 3 league. In the opening half, the diagonal wind made conditions difficult and perhaps favoured the home side. Nevertheless, Kildorrery played their best football of the season in this period, at the end of which they were ahead 1-4 to 0-5.
On the stroke of half-time Kildorrery were unlucky to lose Peter O’Brien and James McEniry with injuries. After the restart, Michael’s took over and pulled away to run out deserving winners on the above score.
Team and scorers: Dave Roche, Liam McGrath, Cormac O’Baoill, Sean Kelly, Eamonn O’Connor Jerry McCarthy, Finbarr Stapleton 0-1, Wm Fouhy, Shane Fitzgerald 0-1, James McEniry, Peter O’Brien, James O’Sullivan 0-1, Tom Monaghan 0-3, Stevie Coughlan, David Kelly 1-1. Subs. P.J.Keating for P. O’Brien; Tom Paul Murphy for J.McEniry.
On Sunday next our Intermediate Hurlers Div.2 league campaign begins with a game versus Kanturk, at Kildorrrery at 2pm.
