KILDORRERY 5-12 KILSHANNIG 3-5

Our Junior B2 footballers travelled to Doneraile, on Tuesday evening last week to play Kilshannig in the championship quarter final. Our boys started well with two points on the board inside the first three minutes, but within the next three minutes they found themselves 0-2 to 2 goals in arrears after our defence had been caught with two fisted goals.  By the end of the first quarter Kilshannig had stretched their lead with a point and a goal from a penalty. Suddenly, Kildorrery sprang to life after Michael Walsh got through for a goal in the twenty-first minute. Shane Walsh kicked over a point from the resultant kick-out and Andrew O’Brien had the first of his brace of goals to which Kilshannig replied with a point. Two more goals from  Andrew and James Magnier and the tables were turned on Kilshannig. At the break, Kildorrery led 4-5 to 3-3.

Within twenty seconds of the restart, Michael Walsh had made it 5-5 for Kildorrery and Finbarr Stapleton followed immediately with a point.  Kilshannig did reply with two points in as many minutes, but failed to score again after the thirty fifth minute while Kildorrery went on to add six more points to their tally to run out deserving winners on the score 5-12 to 3-5.
