KILDORRERY 3-21 CHARLEVILLE 2-3

With home advantage, on Thursday evening, last week, our Minor B1 footballers scored a rather facile victory over a weak Charleville side in the league.   From the throw-in, Kildorrery took the game to their opponents and an early attack yielded a penalty which Anthony Crowley expertly converted, for the opening score of the game. By the time Charleville got on the score-board, in the sixteenth minute,  Kildorrery had 2-3 to their credit and continued to control exchanges to lead at the break 3-7 to 2-2. Early in this first half, Kildorrery lost mid-fielder, Paddy Pigott to a hand injury.

After the restart, our boys continued where they left off and by the end of the third quarter had added nine points to their tally without reply.  Charleville’s only score in this second half was a point from a free in the fifty second minute while the winners added five points inside the last quarter.
