KILDORRERY 0-7 KILSHANNIG 5-9
On Wednesday evening, last week, with home advantage, our Junior B footballers after a promising first half, went under disappointingly, to Kilshannig, in the Division 2 League, on the above score. At the end of the first half, they were just two points adrift, 0-5 to 1-4 and playing well, Kilshannig’s goal having come against the run of play in the twenty-fifth minute.
After the resumption of play, Kildorrery reduced their deficit inside six minutes, but Kilshannig replied with a goal a minute later. Kildorrery’s next point in the twelfth minute of the half proved to be their last score of the game. However, a missed penalty chance at the end of the third quarter heralded the end of the road, when, if converted would have left them just a single point in arrears. From here on in it was all Kilshannig and try as they would, Kildorrery couldn’t contain them and they went on to add 3-4 to their tally and run out easy winners.
