KILDORRERY 1-19  KILLARA OG 0-2

At the home venue, on Tuesday evening, last week, our Under 21C footballers proved much too good for Killara Og, when the sides met in the Championship.  The game was originally fixed for the Glanworth venue but was transferred to Kildorrery when Glanworth pitch was deemed unplayable.

Having played with the advantage of the strong wind in the opening half, the winners led 0-13 to 0-1 at the break.  It might be reasonably expected that with the wind in the second half, that Killara would stage a come-back, but this was not to be. It was Kildorrery, in fact who continued to dominate and had extended their tally to 1-18 before Killara got their second point in the 53rd minute and added their nineteenth point before the final whistle.  Killara Og must still play Kilavullen and Kildorrery play the winners in the final.  In the second half Kildorrery availed of the opportunity to give their subs a run.

Team and scorers:  Tony Watson, John Hunter, P.J.Keating, Mattie Walsh-O’Grady, Kevin Noonan, Ian Butler, Tim O’Sullivan 0-1, Dylan Kent 0-1,  Shane O’Neill 0-4, Kieran Hurley 0-2, Anthony Crowley 1-4 (0-2fs), Cathal Harrington 0-5, Sean Cunningham 0-1, Paddy Pigott 0-1,  David Harrington. Subs used. Paddy Hartnett, Michael Caplice, David Hunter, Eddie O’Regan, Richard Hurley.
