A blanket of snow covering our pitch, last Sunday morning resulted in our Division 4 Intermediate football league game which had been fixed for the venue, being transferred to our opponents’ North City grounds.  Happily, there was some measure of compensation for our team who collected the brace of league points on the above score.

Having been on level terms at the interval, they put in a great effort after the restart to go five points ahead with less than ten minutes remaining.  However, the home side clawed back their deficit, but Kildorrery held out bravely to run out deserving winners.

Team and scorers:  Liam Kelly, Luke O’Baoill, Eamonn O’Connor,Will Coffey, Liam McGrath, Jerry McCarthy, Fintan Daly, Cormac O’Baoill, Shane Fitzgerald, Richie McEniry, Peter O’Brien 0-1, James O’Sullivan 0-1, Sean O’Sullivan, James McEniry 1-7 (0-2fs), Stevie Coughlan 0-1.

Subs. Wm Fouhy for F.Daly (inj.). Tom Monaghan for S.O’Sullivan.  Sean O’Sullivan for W.Coffey(inj.)

They were fixed to play Ballinora in the league, at home on Sunday next, but this game is unlikely to take place, for the present.

On Friday evening at 8.00 p.m. our Junior footballers go into Division 2 league action when they play neighbours, Glanworth at the home venue.
