Sad week for the club
This week the club would like to express its heartfelt condolences to the Howard and O’Donnell families on the sad passing of Mary who passed after a sudden short illness this past week. Dennis, Mary herself, and their three kids Will, Ciara and Sarah play an integral part in both the ladies and juveniles clubs and Mary was a great friend to us all. Mary's presence within our club was marked by her unwavering enthusiasm, boundless energy, and a willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed. Whether on the side-lines cheering for her children or actively participating in club events, Mary's passion for our shared interests was truly infectious. We are truly saddened by her passing. Suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam.Mary reposed at her home on Sunday and there was a shuttle service from our GAA grounds with a phenomenal effort from all in the community.
As we closes on what has been a few very sad weeks for the Howard family the community and the club with the sad passing of Mary,Denis and the Howard and O Donnell family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who supported and contributed in the many fashions over the last week and especially on Sunday. Those who organised, stewarded, who contributed food and who catered, who taxied and ferried the funeral goers. Who chatted and embodied everything that’s great about this community and our neighbouring parish Glanworth in looking after our community in the low times.
Rest in Peace Mary.
Under twenty ones defeat Liscarroll Churchtown
This was an intensely fought battle but we eventually emerged as victors after Liscarroll out up a great display in the second half. The half time score was Kildorrery two goals and three to Liscarrolls two points. With a few players dismissed for Liscarroll Churchtown one would have thought we could have coasted in the second half but that was not the case and their doggedness and determination let them score a further eight points with kildorrry only registering a further two points. But for the heroics of Darren caplice in goals the story could have been a lot worse. Kildorrery will be relived to drive on to the semi-final which will be fixed shoertly.
