Intermediates Secure Two Good Wins

Our Intermediate Hurling & Football Teams had two very good victories recently in the League.

First up were the Hurlers. They played Youghal on Thursday, 27th April and emerged victorious on the scoreline of Kildorrery 1-20 Youghal 1-13. This was a very exciting game played at the home venue between two very sporting teams. Youghal got a goal just before half time and lead by this score at the short whistle....half time score Youghal 1-08 Kildorrery 0-08.

The second half was again very even but a well taken goal by James Keaing put Kildorrery in the ascendency and after a very exciting second half emerged victorious by six points. This was an excellent win by Kildorrery as Youghal had won their previous two games by big margins.

The game was well refereed by Denis Motherway (Ballygiblin) who contributed to an enjoyable match.

Next up it was the Footballers who travelled to Togher to take on St Finbarrs on Saturday, 6th May. They got off to a flying start to lead by 5 points to 2 after 15 minutes but a well prepared physical St Finbarrs team managed to take over the second period of the first half and went in at half time leading 8points to 6.

came out in a determined fashion in the second half and took the game to their opponents. They played their best football of the year in the second half with a splendid team performance and excellent work rate. With 10 minutes remaining they led by three points but the Barrs were not beaten yet and had levelled the game at the 60th minute. Jamie O'Gorman got a superb point to give Kildorrery the lead in the first minute of injury time.

Kildorrery had to endure another nail biting five more minutes of injury time before winning on the scoreline of 1-11 to 13 points.

A thank you to the Management of both Teams who put in hard work preparing the teams and the players who give us great enjoyment and the majority of our players are playing both codes week after week.
