Festival Update Corks Fittest Superstars
As you all know by now the Festival Committee are organizing Corks Fittest Superstars in conjunction with Davy Fitzgerald on Saturday July 1st. This is the biggest fundraising event ever undertaken by the committee and to date it is proving to be very successful with close to 40 teams registered to take part. The target is 50 teams and if we can get to that figure then the event will be a tremendous success which will be vitally beneficial for both the AstroTurf project and the community development projects.
Saturday July 1st is going to be a superb day of entertainment for all ages of the entire community and will attract many from our hinterlands and beyond. The committee are working continually to make sure this is a wholly inclusive weekend for all the family but we need you to get involved.
As a relatively small team, the committee have exhausted all resources and chased as many leads as possible to reach our minimum quota of teams.
To galvanise the event to its full potential we are aiming to reach our target of 50 teams and as Davy Fitz said on the launch night “it needs to be a community wide effort, Everyone needs to get behind it”.
We are appealing to all members to make one mighty effort to contribute to the final 10 teams so as to maximise the benefits of this event for everyone.
Everyone knows someone in another town or village or in another company that they can talk to and try to get them to participate in this event. It is always better to be contacted by a person you know as it makes it more personal and gives the effect of being directly involved. We will help and advice any member who feels that they can help get a team or even a team member as it is also possible to put teams together if we have the numbers. There are plenty of options available for sponsorship so please talk to any member of the committee for assistance.
We trust that as members of Kildorrery GAA Ladies Football and Camogie club you will all want to be part of the future development of the club and community to ensure that the best facilities are available for our youth. So to get us over the line a final push by all would be the key to success.
Please contact Eamonn McCarthy or any of the festival committee if you would like to enter a team.
