Condolences

Firstly this week the club would like to express its sincerest condolences to our Club PRO Eileen Kennedy and family on the passing of her sister Mary in Basel this week. The club as a mark of respect postponed its Juvenile and Ladies club meeting which was scheduled for Monday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kennedy family on Marys sad passing.

Further condolences were conveyed to the Skinner family Mitchelstown on the passing of Mrs Patricia Skinner. Ar dheis daoibh go raibh a hanmneacha dilis.

 

Juvenile Social

The Juvenile social take place this Friday February 24th in the Fir Grove hotel. This promises to be a great night marking the many high points from the Juveniles this year. Mol an Oige agus tiocfaidh said! Best of luck to all involved as it promises to be a great night.

 

GAA Social

A further social night will be held to mark the outstanding achievement of our ladies on March 24th . This will take place in Springfort hall and promises to be a great night. Tickets at €40 a piece will go on sale from Centra,Thornhills,The community office and the Post office. We will also commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Intermediate football county winning team on the same night and this promises to being a great night for the club. We look forward to seeing as many club members there as possible.

 

Fixtures

Our first league fixtures in Intermediate and Junior football will take place in March. The teams are preparing as we speak and we look forward to the commencement of matches.

 

Astro Committee Update

The official fundraising launch will take place on Saturday March 4th and we are delighted that our Cork Fittest family event spearheaded by Davy Fitzgerald will in fact see the Davy himself meet the community in the community hall for the official launch. Book it in. This promises to be a great event to join in as we develop and enhance our facilities for all to share. Everybody in the community is welcome to the event where we will host a question and answer session with Davy. This will also coincide with a fundraising event the players are hosting that day called a Ballathon and it is envisaged kicking off our funding drive with this great initiative. There will be more details on the ballathon over the next few weeks. Well done to the players for driving on with this initiative.

 

Gym Update

Don’t forget to pay your gym membership if you are re-joining for the new year or indeed if you are a new joiner. All new joiners welcome. All details can be obtained from Mikey Walsh or Shane Fitzgerald.

Don’t forget to renew your GAA membership for 2023. Please delete your FOIREANN shortcut/app currently on your phone .Adult Club Members & Parents of juvenile players - Please Download new FOIREANN app on - see details below for Apple & Android phones. After downloading app, please update your profile (see manage profile). Go to Family & update your family profile, please note when paying the family membership - All children incl. Students in college must be added under the children section in the family profile, all over 18s will then be moved to the additional people section. Lotto Results

The Lotto draw results were not ready at the time of going to post. Watch social media channels for the club for details.

 

Rebels Bounty

Deadine for entry is Thursday 30th March. However if you wish to sign up or amend to a direct debit payment then the deadline is Friday 3rd march. If you have any issues please contact James fox or Eamonn McCarthy. The rebels Bounty is a huge source of income for the club and with all the clubs coming together now under the auspices of One Club it is so important that we can raise as much as possible.

 

Bingo

There is Bingo in the hall Friday night. Home bingo books on sale in the Community office ,Post office, Centra Kildorrery, and Maxol Mitchelstown. This week’s snow ball prize is €650. Thank you as always for your support.

 

Volunteers

The club is always looking for volunteers to support in any way. If you would like to become a volunteer with the club in some area please leave any of the club officers know.

 

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be a meeting of the Ladies and Juvenile club respectively which takes place on Monday night again in the club rooms at 8.30pm. All welcome!
