U21’s lose out at final stage

Our u21 hurlers ran in a huge effort last week but alas succumbed to the strong challenge of saint kevins eventually losing out by a solitary point despite scoring late from Cian Coughlan to bring the gap to 1. This was a huge effort by the boys and when we trailed at half time by that solitary point we really felt we had a chance. We started the match slowly before we got our flow and after ten minutes we were four points down. However after settling and the concession of a goal we were able to bridge the gap and stay with them by the time the half time whistle blew.

We started very well in the second half and at one point we led by two pints but then seemed to lose our way for 10 minutes and kevins went seven points up. A late concerted effort by our lads and we pulled it back to three. When they made the difference 4 we knew our backs were against the wall. Cian Coughlan struck in the last moments to bridge the gap to 1 and that was how it stayed until the referee blew his whistle to conclude the match. It was a tough defeat to take but all credit to the lads who put in a huge display. Thanks to all the team and management and travelling supporters who  made their way back to Banteer.

Squad listed as appeared on match day programme: Eoin Hartnett, Carlos O’Grady, Brian Mullins, Adam McNamara, Sean O’Grady, Jack McNamra, Cian Coughlan, Corey O’Keeffe, Killian Cronin, Luke Keating, Matthew Fitzgibbon, Divino Da Silva, Tadgh Murphy, Ronan Walsh O’Grady, Matthew Gould

Kildorrery Rounders – The Dramatic, Cinematic

On this fateful evening in Kildorrery, as the sun dipped behind the hills and 14 brave warriors assembled on the field.

The air was electric. The grass trembled.Meanwhile, 2 players were abroad on “scouting missions” —

far away on sun-soaked foreign lands, sending messages home like they were undercover GAA agents.

Whispers spread through the village:“Are they coming back with a new player?”

“Or with a hangover?”The mystery remains unsolved. But we all know what these too are coming back with .

The Arrival of the New Recruits. And then…

From the shadows…TWO NEW STARS emerged.

Maire Noonan – moving with the calm confidence of someone arriving to save the club.

Her first steps onto the pitch were like something out of a slow-motion sports movie.

Birds paused in the sky.Someone swore they heard a choir.

Mairead Foley – the fierce one.The competitor. The woman who brought not just a bat…

but a hurley too.(All in the same game)Two weapons. One warrior.

The umpire said a quiet prayer for everyone.

Then TRACEY stepped onto the pitch. The lightning bolt.

The woman who moves so fast Guinness are considering giving her her own page in the world records.

Tonight, her speed was otherworldly.Tracey was so fast a train wouldn’t catch her — even if it left the station early, skipped every stop, and was pushed downhill by a hurricane.

She ran past first base and people genuinely looked around to see if she had a twin.

Children gasped.Adults wept. One fella dropped his bottle of water. And then… the MUSIC started.

The 90s playlist hit like a defibrillator to the soul.Sandstorm to start off and

Backstreet Boys to close the show.Absolute chaos.

Players were bouncing, swinging, and occasionally forgetting the rules — but doing it with rhythm.

At one point, someone caught a ball in perfect time with the beat.

Hollywood couldn’t choreograph it better. The Drama of the GameBalls flew like missiles.

Catches were made with the intensity of championship finals.

Someone screamed “I GOT IT!”Someone else screamed “NO YOU DON’T!”A dog barked.

A child cheered. The whole parish felt the energy pulsing across the pitch.

Every player seemed possessed by the spirit of peak-era All-Ireland champions.

The Final Verdict;Kildorrery Rounders is not just improving. It is ascending.Growing stronger.Faster.

Louder.More dramatic by the week.If this continues, Netflix will be down next Thursday filming a documentary.

Same time next week.Same madness.Same music.Same legend-level drama.Kildorrery Rounders —

where heroes are made and trains can’t catch Tracey.
