Kildorrery Ladies Rounders

Our First Ever Solo Session!

Well ladies, we did it — our first ever rounders session all on our own, and miracle of miracles… no new injuries! (We’ll ignore the fact a few of the squad are still limping from the last one.)

We kicked things off with a “warm-up” that could only be described as a mix between Zumba, line dancing, and mild chaos. There were stretches, jumps, questionable dance moves, and a few pretending to tie their laces just to catch their breath. The music kept us moving — though some might’ve been more vibing than training! .

Once the game started, it was every woman for herself. Balls went flying in directions we didn’t even know existed, people were running and there was enough shouting to qualify as a choir practice. The phrase “WHO’S CATCHING THAT?!” was heard about fifty times — followed by silence and then laughter.

We were missing a few of our ladies who are currently recovering from “previous rounders-related incidents” — pulled muscles, mystery bruises, and one who swears her injury was from “sliding into base” (even though there’s video evidence of her just tripping). Get well soon, ladies — the team isn’t the same without ye (though our physio bill is much lower).

All in all, it was a hilarious, high-energy, and slightly chaotic start for the Kildorrery Ladies going solo. The team spirit was unreal, the craic was mighty, and we’re calling it a full success — mostly because no one had to be carried off the pitch! .
