Last Thursday evening at the home venue, our Junior hurlers were decisively beaten by an inordinately strong Mallow side in the Cavanagh’s Fermoy Division 2 league.  The final score-line read Mallow 4-11 Kildorrery 1-8. At the end of the first half, the winners led 1-8 to 0-2 and while Kildorrery put in a most encouraging performance in the second half they had to give best to Mallow.

Team and scorers:  Dave Roche, John McCarthy, Tim Crowley, Niall Kelly, Jason Walsh, John Howard 0-1, Willie Coffey, Shane O’Neill, James O’Sullivan, 0-1, Eamonn O’Connor 0-1, Ciaran O’ Connor 0-3, Sean O’Sullivan, Richie Lillis 1-0, Sean Walsh,  Darren McNamara.  Sub. Tiernan Condon 0-2 for J. McCarthy.

KILDORRERY 1-11 CARRIGALINE 1-12

Our Intermediate hurlers travelled to Carrigaline, last Saturday afternoon, where they produced their best form of the season, so far, and were most unlucky not to have come away with the two points, when they played the local side in the Division 2 league.  Leading by two points 1-11 to 0-12 with time virtually up they unfortunately conceded a goal and so lost on the above score.

Team and scorers: James McEniry, Sean Kelly, Shane Fitzgerald, Niall Kelly, Willie Coffey, Michael Walsh, John Howard, Jerry McCarthy, James O’Sullivan, Eamonn O’Connor 1-3, Andrew O’Brien 0-5(0-4Fs) , Stevie Coughlan 0-1, William Fouhy 0-1, Ciaran O’Connor, Richie Lillis. Subs.  Cormac O’Baoill for R.Lillis, Peter O’Brien 0-1,for C. O’Connor, Sean Walsh for A.O’Brien (inj.)

We wish a full and speedy recovery to Andrew O’Brien who sustained a serious shoulder injury in the game.
