10/12/2012    Awesome O’Brien the hero again for Kildorrery

An unanswered 1-2 in the space of three second-half minutes turned the AIB Munster JHC final Kildorrery’s way at Mallow yesterday. For much of the contest, St Kieran’s of Limerick had edged a tight and tense affair, holding a precious 0-9 to 0-8 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. All of a sudden a goal, quickly followed by two points, put Kildorrery into the game’s biggest lead, and though Kieran’s never fell away, they had lost their momentum and could not pull level again.

06/12/2012    Kdy are Cork’s last hope to bring home a club hurling title

AFTER surviving four stern tests on the trot en route to winning the county junior hurling championship title for the first time, it must have made a welcome change for Kildorrery when they cruised home against Butlerstown of Waterford in the Munster club semi final three weeks ago.

23/11/2012    Players Training Fund

The Players Training Fund is still ongoing as the team prepare for yet another very important match, the Munster Club Junior Hurling final on December 9th. The Players really appreciate the vocal and financial support of all our supporters who have generously contributed to the training fund to date and who travel to the matches.

10/12/2012    O’Brien says parish is buzzing for final

KILDORRERY'S prolific score-getter Peter O'Brien made another massive contribution to the win over Butlerstown, despite nursing a hamstring injury going into the match. While he would have been bitterly disappointed to have missed the game, O'Brien said he wouldn't have lined out if he didn't think he was right, making the point that Kildorrery aren't lacking strength-in-depth

19/11/2012    Kildorrery run riot in second-half

Kildorrery cruised into their first Munster Club JHC final with this facile 20-point victory over Butlerstown at Carriganore yesterday. It may come as a surprise to those who did not make it to the game based on the final score, but the Waterford men put it up to Kildorrery in the first-half. Indeed the winners had to wait until the 24th minute to register their first score from play.

15/11/2012    Deise test for Kildorrery

WINNING the county junior championship for a hurling club like Kildorrery could easily be classed as one of those once in a life time events. The club, which has been operating in its current form since 1949 without ever achieving the status of being the county's representatives now finds itself in the semi-final of a provincial championship for the first time in its history. Now that the goal of beating the best of the rest in county Cork has been achieved the sights have been set much higher. With a trip to Croke Park for an All Ireland final only three wins away the pressure is undoubtedly beginning to mount in the north Cork village.

11/11/2012    KILDORRERY BANISH YEARS OF HURT by Paudie Palmer

AFTER five massive Sundays, I am experiencing a bit of a downer. The county final odyssey is over for 2012 and while some may argue about the quality most certainly what is not in question is the real drama that played out in front of us. Coming down the home straight in practically all of the contests the issue was still in doubt and after that… what more do you want?

09/11/2012    Prediction Quiz Winners

The Kildorrery GAA Prediction Quiz for 2012 has reached its conclusion and the prize winners have been announced.

WINTER hurling again in all its finery as Kildorrery finally make the big breakthrough in the Cork County JHC after another dramatic Sunday afternoon at Páirc Uí Rinn. Two weeks ago themselves and Brian Dillon’s served up the hurling game of the year on Leeside when it was unable to drive a wedge between them and the second instalment here was another incredible and nerve jangling contest that graphically illustrated the stark contrast between winning and losing a county final.

05/11/2012    O’Brien the hero as Kildorrery stun Dillon’s

The replay of the Cork JHC final provided another enthralling contest at Páirc Uí yesterday as Kildorrery snatched the honours in the a dramatic way. The clock had ticked over into the 62th minute with the North Cork side three points down. Then as he had done the first day, Peter O’Brien popped up to become the saviour for Kildorrery.

22/10/2012    Horgan’s late free saves Dillons

A point from a 20-metre free a minute into injury-time by John Horgan earned Brian Dillons a second bite of the cherry in this gripping Cork JHC final at Páirc Uí Rinn yesterday. With five minutes of normal time to go the city champions held a three-point lead and were looking good for their first title at this level since 1938. But in the twinkling of eye Kildorrery drew level when Peter O’Brien levelled the game with a goal, and the cup looked to be staying in the Avondhu division for at least another season when corner-back Cormac Ó Baoill landed the lead point — the first and only time Kildorrery led.

18/10/2012    Kildorrery to hold whip hand

KILDORRERY were perceived as potential party poopers prior to last year's protracted North-Cork junior hurling final. It will be recalled that Charleville had been nominated to represent Avondhu in the county series in 2011, and they proved worthy standard-bearers, completing their campaign with a victory over city kingpins Mayfield in a replayed final.

18/10/2012    Kildorrery hang on for final berth

THERE would have been few dissenting voices had this thrilling county junior hurling semi final at Milford last Sunday evening finished in stalemate. It almost did, with Kilbrin being denied a second bite of the cherry after Liam Daly's well-struck effort from a close-in-free failed to beat a wall of Kildorrery players standing on the goal-line just seconds before the final whistle. It meant that the Duhallow kingpins' bid to complete a remarkable recovery fell tantalisingly short, allowing Kildorrery to advance to the county final for the first time since 1972.

10/09/2012    Kildorrery edge out Carrignavar after thriller

Kildorrery progressed to the Cork JAHC semi-final following a thrilling win over Carrignavar at Ballyhooly last evening. The first-half saw Kildorrery, aided by the wind, start at a blistering pace with Michael Walsh, Dave Kelly, Eamon O’Connor and the O’Brien brothers surging forward at every opportunity.

09/08/2012    Kildorrery through to Premier final

KILDORRERY booked their place in this year's Hibernian Hotel Premier JHC final when they defeated a gallant Ballyhooly in the second semifinal in wet conditions at Glanworth on Saturday evening.

02/08/2012    Kildorrery run out clear winners

LAST year's Premier JHC finalists Kildorrery had 14 points to spare over Kilworth in a disappointing Hibernian Hotel Premier JHC quarter final at Fermoy last Sunday evening.

26/07/2012    Iveleary Too Strong

MIDWAY through the second half of the county Under 21 'B' football championship final at Pairc Uí Rinn last Saturday evening, it seemed as if Kildorrey were on course to deliver the goods against fancied Muskerry standard-bearers Iveleary.

The positive influence the ASAP programme is having on the lives of our members is not easily quantifiable. In the six years since its inception the GAA’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention programme (run in conjunction with the HSE) has reached almost every club in the country.

05/04/2012    Juvenile GAA News April 5th

The Kildorrery U12 football team put up another great display on Saturday last, against a very good Clyda rovers team. In a thrilling and sporting game, they were unlucky to lose by a single point 4-6 to 4-5 with some waist full shooting costing us in the end. But the overall improvement of their skills, discipline and team play was a joy for their coaches to watch.

29/03/2012    Decisive Victory for U21 B Footballers

At Castletownroche, last Sunday afternoon, our U21 B footballers scored a decisive victory over a strong Buttevant side to capture the North Cork O'Sullivan and Lewis sponsored championship. The final scoreline read Kildorrery 3-9 Buttevant 0-8. This was a particularly sweet victory as their opponents had defeated them by 3 goals at the same stage of the championship in 2011 and had fourteen of that team still eligible.
