KILDORRERY’S GAA stars pulled out all the stops on Friday in a feast of glitz and glamour that made the club’s first ever fundraising fashion show an event to remember.
Hosted by the Mallow Park Hotel the colourful fashion show was three months in the making under the joint supervision of ladies’ football coach Cathal O’Callaghan and player Caroline Coughlan.
Up to 400 fashion enthusiasts lined out rampside for the show looking to draw inspiration for their summer wardrobes from participating fashion outlets across Mitchelstown, Mallow and Clonmel.

Adding a touch of celebrity style to the event was Claire Cullinane who was excellent as MC while the crowd also delighted in a catwalk appearance by Cork hurling stars Fergal McCormack, Tom Kenny and John Gardener.
However, it was the local ladies, who are are only normally seen to strut their stuff on the GAA pitch, who really stole the show modelling a range of quirky creations from the Limerick School of Art and Design.
With proceeds on the night being split between the Kildorrery Ladies GAA club and the Marie Keating foundation, organisers were delighted to welcome on stage Linda Keating who spoke of her mother’s battle with cancer and work of the foundation while extending a hearty thank you to the Kildorrery club for all their hard work in organising the event.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of many local businesses, 20 fabulous spot-prizes were given away on the night and half of the monies raised will now be ploughed back into the club.

"Everyone seemed to really enjoy the show especially our club members who took to the catwalk like ducks to water. We’re delighted that the show proved such a success and we would hope to make it an annual event. We’d like to thank all local businesses for their support, particularly our main sponsor Awbeg Manufacturing Castletownroche," said Cathal O’Callaghan.

The club now turns its attentions to seeking sponsorship for the purchase of new playing kits for the Juvenile team.
